Booster Meeting Notes - 5/21/2025

HAMPTON WRESTLING ASSOCIATION

BOOSTER MEETING MINUTES – MAY 21, 2025

(Called to Order at 6:05pm – Adjourned at 7:04pm)

COACHES’ REPORTS:

VARSITY (COACH ENDRES):

• Coach Dom’s passed away and it was mentioned that we need to make a donation to the wrestling program that he supported.

• 2025-26 schedule is completed 

• Dawg Duals will be held 12/13/25

• Looking to purchase a second set of singlets.  The boosters would need to fund this.

• Would like to get on overnight tournament added for Varsity only

  • has to be approved by the district

  • Fred Bell tournament would be the best option.  4 wrestlers per room, the boosters would fund the rooms and transportation

  • Online training library (Stacy motioned to approve the purchase / Greg second the motion)

    • 1 x $500 - 3 coaches account

    • 2 x $50 for each additional to cover Varsity/ MS / Girls / 2 youth

  • Dawg Duals and Officials Pay

    • Athletic office has a budget of $2500 to pay for officials.  We will assist with DD payment.  Nick to have a conversation with Mike Gavlik that we will reimburse the shortfall

MIDDLE SCHOOL (COACH BURSICK):

• Spoke with Mike Gavlik about schedule, but only dual meets so far.  Once the HS schedules are completed he’ll work on Jr. High

YOUTH (COACH RUGGERI):

• Not doing the camp this year.  Ran into too many snags

• Chris will be the 2025-26 NHWL president and the Youth Coordinator, stepping down from head coach.

  • We will look into having 2 (Open/Novice) Youth Head Coaches TBD.  

• Looking into having more dual meets for the youth

• EBMT will be held on 12/14/25

GIRLS’ CLUB (COACH ENDRES):

• Spoke with AD, Mike Gavlik, they have the girls schedule started

• The program is looking better for this upcoming season

TREASURER’S REPORT:

• Accounting software is up to date

• $11,077 in Checking Account Balance

• $6,410 in Scholarship Account Balance

• $100 in Venmo Account Balance

EBMT:

• 15U Opening – could it work? (PIAA – no varsity wrestlers eligible)

• Comments from last year to take away hard start time for 2^nd session

• Coach Bursick was open to suggestions – have to run past Frank

OTHER DISCUSSION ITEMS:

• Had a discussion regarding end of season payout structure feedback:

  • Don’t need the gift card

  • Pay the head coaches - free registration 

  • All other coaches will get ½ off registration

• June 7th all wrestlers can get a physical for $10 that will be good for all of the school year.  Information will be emailed out and sent through communication apps

• We will have a lot of seniors in the upcoming season.  Senior Night will be held 2/4

• Considering 1/14 for PPF vs Highlands.  Look into youth participation.

• Next meeting will be in August before the start of school

• Meeting was adjourned at 7:20pm
