Outside of wrestling Coach Endres enjoys his time pursuing anything physically challenging with jiu jitsu, strength training, ultra marathons, and obstacle course racing. His favorite time however is the time he gets with his wife, Desirae, and two daughters, Gemma and Juna, who you can find in the stands at the varsity matches cheering the on the Talbots.

KENNY DOWNING

ASST COACH - VARSITY

Coach Kenny Downing started wrestling at the age of 7 with the youth program offered by Hampton and continued up until middle school. This was when he transferred to a private wrestling club, Pitbull Wrestling Club, where he continued to gain experience and knowledge of the sport and it became a real passion. This took him into high school where he attended Pittsburgh Central Catholic in 2005.

From 2005-2009 Downing was a four year starter and three year captain. He was the first freshman in the history of the program to ever win a Section Championship. He was a two time section champion, took fourth place at the WPIAL championship in 2008, and was All county in 2009.

He ended his high school career with a record of 125 -19. After high school Coach Downing decided to enter the work force, but always missed the sport of wrestling. In 2023 when his oldest son started with the youth program at Hampton is when he started his coaching career at both, the youth level and as a volunteer assistant for Hampton High School. This is now his second year volunteering at both levels and he couldn’t be more honored to help shape these student athletes by improving on their skills not only on the mat but off the mat too.
