HAMPTON WRESTLING ASSOCIATION

BOOSTER MEETING MINUTES – FEBRUARY 4, 2025

(Called to Order at 6:07pm – Adjourned at 6:58pm)

COACHES’ REPORTS:

VARSITY (COACH ENDRES):

• Allegheny County Tournament – Dustin placed 5th Place

• Fred Bell Tournament – Dustin placed 5th Place

• No competitions this week

• Varsity Season Duels Record: 7-8

MIDDLE SCHOOL (COACH BURSICK):

• Peters Township Duel – 5th Place

• Mat Madness – 12th Place

• Multiple issues & chaos at Armstrong Match – it resolved itself

• Feb. 14 & 15 – Kiski WPIAL Tournament – only starters will be wrestling

YOUTH (COACH RUGGERI):

• NA Duels (took 2 teams) – both the JV Team and 1st Year Team placed 3rd

• Suggested to host a tournament like this meet – profits of event would be great to add to program

• Attendance is picking back up since last meeting

• Road Warrior Tournament is next weekend (currently @ 6th place)

GIRLS’ CLUB (COACH BARRY):

• Quad Match @ USC – only 3 girls attended (Nevaeh 2-2 / Guils 1-1 / Maddie 0-2)

• Feb. 15th – Girls WPIAL Tournament @ NA High School – Nevaeh & Maddie will be attending

TREASURER’S REPORT:

• Compensation for coaches – please submit to Greg a list of assistant coaches and amount requested

• Working to get budget complete by end of season to prepare for next season / rollover control

• $40,700 in Checking Account Balance

• $6,410 in Scholarship Account Balance

• $1,240 in Venmo Account Balance

FUNDRAISING:

• Strombolis – 3,581 Final count sold – Profit $6,804.03 / $7,603.82 in Buyout / $1,936 in Buyout Still Owed

• Supplemental Hoodie order still open – submitting order next Monday

• Night at the Races – Starting selling horses & jockeys (March 29th)

OTHER DISCUSSION ITEMS:

o Removal of mats in practice rooms (to be picked up end of season)

Date TBD – Athletic Department working on finalizing with manufacturer

o Couple additional volunteer spots on Signup Genius for Banquet volunteers

March 9th – Middle School – Zone 28

April 10th – Varsity & Girls – Hampton Banquet Hall

TBD – Youth – Urban Air

o $2,000 was donated to Emma Bursick Memorial Fund by HWA

o Idea of making Past, Present & Future Night the last meet of December in the future
