Booster Meeting Notes - 10/28/2024

HAMPTON WRESTLING ASSOCIATION

BOOSTER MEETING MINUTES – OCTOBER 28TH, 2024

(Called to Order at 6:33pm – Adjourned at 7:12pm)

COACHES’ REPORTS:

VARSITY (COACH ENDRES):

• Great turnout for first after school workout

• Schedules online – need one error corrected

MIDDLE SCHOOL (COACH BURSICK):

• Middle School schedule almost set

• Unsure about 12/21 Ellwood City Tournament – worried it will be a very long event

• Solidifying events on 12/11 and 12/18

• 19 out of 21 Competition Points have been used so far

• Feb. 8 – Kiski Duals

• Head count is 24 wrestlers as of today

• Practices start November 15th – will be 3:15pm to 4:30pm

YOUTH (COACH RUGGERI):

• 69 youth wrestlers signed up as of today – 57 Novice & 8 Open / 37 are Brand New

• Practices will start November 4th – we can make a Facebook Post advertising it

GIRLS’ CLUB (COACH BARRY):

• Girls’ singlets were ordered today

TREASURER’S REPORT:

• All checks are accounted for – nothing is missing or unknown whereabouts

• $24,290.84 bank account balance / $6,410.00 in Scholarship Fund

• Everything is reconciled and up to date!

FUNDRAISING:

• Stromboli Orders - They will be here soon enough – 1/3/25 Orders Due & 1/17/25 Orders Picked Up

• Talbot Tailgate Sumo Suits - They might be available cheaper after Halloween on ½ Off Sales – buy a bunch!

OTHER DISCUSSION ITEMS:

EMMA BURSICK TOURNAMENT:

• 15U is OK to do, but if we do, it will make the event that much longer – leaning towards not doing

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

• Lots of people offering to donate goods / materials, but we need actual bodies to volunteer

• (Table Workers, Concessions, etc.)

  
  

APPAREL STORES (MYHOUSE & GPSA):

• Post a Facebook Update to advertise both Apparel Stores – small window to order before they close!

HEALTHY ROSTER:

• Make sure all documents are completed and uploaded onto Healthy Roster before first practice – your wrestler cannot participate without these completed!
